Bridging this gap through community engagement allows young community members to make an impact in their homes and allow them to reclaim and exercise their right to self-determination.

Seeking to honor and represent the large Latino and Indigenous population of Thornton, the Dia de los Muertos subcommittee of the Thornton Arts, History, and Humanities Council (TASHCO) is looking for students' input on the city-sponsored Dia de los Muertos celebration. Students will aid in the planning, cultural accuracy, and implementation of the celebration. You can find more information on the Thornton Arts Website.

If you're looking for an opportunity to build and develop your skills as a leader within the community, Rocky Mountain Partners is taking applications for their Civic Influencer Fellowship. This 9-month program works with young and rising community leaders building skills in understanding and influencing regional policy and help students get experience working on high-impact projects from right here in Thornton, all the way to Brighton!
If you're interested in the program, they will begin accepting applications next year (2025).
